[Cosmetics Review] Missha - Black Ghassoul Foam Cleansing Bar

Hey all, back with another review!

I previously blogged that I would be posting about the my foam cleansing bar that I bought and got a few samples with, and here it is! It's Missha's Black Ghassoul Foam Cleansing Bar! I can't read Korean, but the lady at the shop told me that it was 3 in 1, so it's a cleansing foam, a bubble pack and soap (Got these translations off google translate...exact word for word from the box).

The box and what's inside.

Inside the box (it's a small box, a little bigger than a Dove soap bar box if you've ever had one) is a bar of black soap in a plastic packaging, and also a white mesh mini bag that the soap is supposed to be in.

So the lady told me that "you need to put only a little bit of water on it, then apply to the T-zone and cleanse". They also said that the soap would run out a lot quicker if used with a lot of water.

When used, it smells a bit like sesame and black bean together - so kind of like those Asian ingredients you see in their cuisine. It also foams up rather well only with a little water.

So I trialed this for a week or so, just to see results. It's a daily wash/soap and results do not show immediately. I only applied this to the T-zone, and massaged in circular motions. It leaves the skin fairly clean, but I follow up with another daily cleanser or scrub/mask. Honestly, after using it for a week or so, it was easier to see the dried sebum in the skin (you know, the ones that are incredibly hard to get rid of?), and it had gotten just a tiny bit darker. It could only be seen if I looked really closely, so it was nothing to be worried about. The following days after, I couldn't see the dark spots anymore, but the sebum was still there. A positive thing though, was when a pimple was forming, it would kind of 'stop it' from forming any further, then it dies down after a day or two.

I think that this soap doesn't cleanser deep down, so it only got rid of the top of the dried sebum, not the whole thing.

What I like:

  • It cleanses the T-zone nicely
  • It has an alright smell
  • Can be used daily
  • Can 'stop' a pimple from fully forming (maybe it's a combination of the skincare I use...)

What I dislike:
  • Didn't get rid of all the dried sebum
  • Foam is not "silky foamy" but kind of like the very watery dry-bubble foamy
  • Extra application of other washes/scrubs afterwards

Rating: ❤❤❤ 3/5

Hope this review helps :)
